Two fires are raging in the area of Marikostinovo village, located towards the village of Topelnitsa and within the village's territory. According to information from the Mayor of Marikostinovo, Gergana Todorova, the fires are spreading rapidly due to hot, dry grasslands and very strong winds, which are complicating firefighting operations. Teams from the Regional Fire Safety and Civil Protection Service and personnel from the Petrich Emergency Unit are on-site battling the flames.
