In Hathazari upazila, Chattogram, a two-month-old girl named Meherar Akter was allegedly killed by her father, Osman Gani, on April 12, 2026. The fatal incident occurred around 8:00 AM in the Charia area following an argument between Osman Gani and his wife, Sumaiya Akter, over tea preparation. Police reports indicate Osman Gani snatched the infant from her mother and slammed her to the ground, resulting in her immediate death. The body has been sent for an autopsy, and Osman Gani is currently a fugitive, with police actively searching for his arrest and processing a murder case.
