Tycoon Vincent Tan cuts Berjaya stake in asset sales 04.06.2026

Malaysian tycoon Vincent Tan has divested RM115 million (S$37 million) worth of shares in his conglomerate Berjaya, significantly reducing his stake to approximately 15 percent. These transactions, occurring on May 28, involved the sale of 461.65 million shares through various nominee accounts, lowering his direct interest to 4.1 percent and deemed interest to about 11 percent. This latest disposal follows a previous sale of a 5.25 percent stake in March and results in Tan no longer being a substantial shareholder in several listed companies, including Salcon, REDtone Digital, and Sports Toto, though he retains smaller holdings in 7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings, Berjaya Food, and Berjaya Assets.
