UAE airlines to resume limited number of flights, mainly for repatriations 02.03.2026

The Straits Times

UAE airlines Emirates, flydubai, and Etihad Airways are resuming a limited number of flights starting March 2, primarily to repatriate stranded passengers following airspace closures due to escalating Iranian conflict. Israeli and US attacks on Iran, and Tehran's response, led to the shutdown of airspace across parts of the Middle East, including the UAE, impacting major airports like Dubai and Doha. Dubai Airports confirmed a partial resumption of services from Dubai International (DXB) and Al Maktoum International (DWC) on March 2, with DXB having sustained minor damage from Iranian retaliatory attacks on March 1. Emirates and flydubai announced a small number of flights would operate that evening, including services to Russian destinations and from Pakistan and Somaliland. Etihad stated that while scheduled commercial services to and from Abu Dhabi remained cancelled, some repositioning, cargo, and repatriation flights might operate with strict approvals.
