Referrals to the UK's Prevent deradicalisation programme surged to a record 10,293 in the year ending September 2025, marking a 39% increase from the previous year. The number of individuals enrolled in Channel, the scheme's most extreme cases division, more than doubled during the same period. Extreme right-wing concerns accounted for the largest share of referrals at 20%, while Islamist extremism and fascination with extreme violence each represented 8% of cases.
