Guerre en Ukraine : attaque nocturne avant des pourparlers, la Russie « méprise les efforts de paix »à 10h14 17.02.2026

In a significant escalation just before peace talks, Russia launched a massive overnight assault on Ukraine, deploying 29 missiles and 396 drones targeting critical infrastructure. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga condemned the attack, stating it demonstrated Russia's "contempt for peace efforts" as discussions involving American, Russian, and Ukrainian representatives were set to commence in Geneva, Switzerland. Russia claimed to have intercepted over 150 Ukrainian drones, primarily aimed at the Black Sea region, including Crimea and the Sea of Azov. One of the longest recent attacks reportedly occurred around Sevastopol, where over 24 drones were downed, resulting in injuries, including to a child. In the Krasnodar region, an oil refinery was targeted, with a 700 m² oil tank damaged and a fire subsequently extinguished by 72 firefighters.
