Ukraine : qui est le principal opposant à Zelensky qui pourrait le battre à la prochaine élection présidentielle ? 19.02.2026

Valeri Zaloujny, the former Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine's armed forces and current ambassador to the UK, is emerging as a significant potential challenger to President Volodymyr Zelensky in future presidential elections. Zaloujny, born in 1973, modernized Ukraine's military doctrine along NATO lines and gained popularity for his role in defending Kyiv in February 2022. Despite a reported cooling of relations with Zelensky following the 2023 counter-offensive, Zaloujny remains highly trusted by the Ukrainian public, with polls indicating he could defeat Zelensky in a hypothetical second-round election. However, Zaloujny has stated he has no intention of forming a political party or supporting elections while the war continues, and current martial law prohibits presidential elections.
