The leadership councils of Umno and Pakatan Harapan have unanimously agreed to maintain the unity government framework in Negri Sembilan to ensure state stability and public welfare. Announced on May 5 by secretaries-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, the decision mandates that any sensitive state government actions must be referred to the Umno-Pakatan consultative council. This agreement follows political turmoil sparked by a declaration from four ruling chiefs attempting to remove the Yang di-Pertuan Besar, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir. Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun rejected this move, citing the prior removal of the Undang of Sungei Ujong, Datuk Mubarak Dohak. Despite internal pressures and assembly shifts, Umno remains committed to the current state administration.
