Un cormoran blessé toque à la porte des urgences pour être secouru 20.02.2026

An injured cormorant unexpectedly sought help at the Klinikum Links der Weser hospital in Bremen, Germany, on Sunday, tapping on the emergency room doors with its beak. The bird, in extreme distress and having lost its natural shyness, was found with a triple fishhook lodged in its beak. Hospital staff initially struggled to capture the bird and called for assistance from the fire department. Firefighters successfully subdued the cormorant, cutting part of the hook before the rest could be removed and the wound treated. This unusual rescue, described as unprecedented by hospital staff, allowed the cormorant to be released unharmed in the hospital's park, avoiding the severe risks of infection, pain, and starvation posed by the embedded hook.
