UNICEF Representative to Uganda, Dr. Robin Nandy, has strongly condemned recent violent attacks on children in Ggaba-Kampala and Apac District, expressing deep shock and sadness. The incidents, which occurred on Thursday, April 2, 2026, resulted in the deaths of four toddlers at Ggaba Early Childhood Development Centre and the assault of seven students at Apac Seed Secondary School. Dr. Nandy extended condolences to the bereaved families and pledged UNICEF's support for traumatized children and their communities, emphasizing that schools must be safe sanctuaries for learning and growth, not sites of violence.
