Russian mercenaries from the Africa Corps, which replaced the Wagner Group in Mali, are deploying combat drones previously used in Ukraine. Debris from a Lancet kamikaze drone, identified by FRANCE 24 Observers, was found near Timbuktu after an April 15 strike by the Azawad Liberation Front (FLA) and JNIM fighters. The Lancet, a loitering munition manufactured by Zala Aero, a Kalashnikov subsidiary, is typically used in Ukraine to strike armored vehicles and artillery, not for insurgency warfare. A Ukrainian resale site, Reibert.info, helped confirm the drone's identity by comparing debris images.
