Up to a 35% increase and salaries higher than the Minister's: details of complaints regarding irregular raises in the Ministry of Women 07.07.2026

The National Association of Female Officials of the Ministry of Women (ANFUMMEG) has filed a complaint with the Comptroller General regarding alleged corruption crimes due to irregular salary increases. The complaints target four officials close to former Undersecretary Daniela Castro, who reportedly received raises of up to 35.35% under the concept of "critical functions." Cases such as those of Daniela Carvajal and Paula Figueroa show gross salaries exceeding $8,800,000, an amount higher than that received by Minister Judith Marín. The irregularity lies in the fact that Exempt Resolution No. 007389121, which formalized the payments, was allegedly issued by Figueroa without the oversight of a certifying officer (ministro de fe) or the necessary budgetary authorizations. This situation occurs in a context of institutional crisis, compounded by complaints filed under the Karin Law against Minister Marín herself.
