Uruguay activates airlift to Venezuela to send over 60 tons of humanitarian aid following earthquakes #July4 04.07.2026

Uruguay has initiated an airlift to Venezuela to deliver more than 60 tons of humanitarian aid following the devastating 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes that struck the northern region of the country on June 24. A Hercules aircraft from the Uruguayan Air Force departed this Saturday with an initial shipment of 15 tons, including medical supplies, hygiene items, powdered milk, and contingency equipment such as tents. The mission, led by Colonel Martín Campoamor, includes a technical stop in Manaus, Brazil, and is staffed by a crew of 12 specialists. In addition to the supplies, the Uruguayan government has offered specialized technical assistance in search and rescue and water purification. This catastrophe has left an official death toll of 2,645 and 12,666 injured, prompting this international response.
