The United States has commenced its withdrawal from its largest military base in Syria, Kasrak, located in the northeastern Hassaka province, with a convoy of over one hundred vehicles reportedly heading towards Iraq. This marks the second such convoy in recent days, following the US departure from two other bases, Shadadi and Al-Tang, which have been handed over to Syrian forces. Reports indicate a complete US troop withdrawal from Syria is anticipated within a month, with approximately 1,000 soldiers having been stationed there. The US has shifted its support from Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to the government troops of President Ahmed al-Sharaa, who recently gained control of northeastern territories previously held by the SDF.
