The US military announced a new wave of attacks against Iran on Sunday, following a flare-up of hostilities over the strategic Strait of Hormuz that saw several of Washington's Gulf allies targeted. Central Command (CENCTOM) stated the latest salvo began at 2100 GMT on Sunday, after approximately 140 strikes were conducted the previous night. The renewed fighting threatens an interim agreement between the US and Iran aimed at ending their war, which has caused global economic disruptions since late February.
