US university sells dead bodies to navy for Israeli military training 02.06.2026

A USC medical case manager, Miriam Volpin, uncovered a disturbing investigation by a student journalist into allegations that bodies donated to the University of Southern California for research were being sold to the U.S. Armed Forces, potentially for Israeli military training. Volpin's 101-year-old mother, Jeanette, who died in 2021 and had donated her body to USC, might be among those whose remains were used. The AJ+ documentary series "Direct From" is further investigating these claims, having met with Volpin and the student journalists. Their initial reporting in 2025 revealed USC, along with another Southern California school, supplied cadavers to the U.S. Navy for Israeli surgical teams, with USC records showing at least 89 fresh cadavers supplied since 2018 for training involving both U.S. Navy and Israeli military personnel.
