Fully loaded claypot Hokkien mee at Hup Lok 1d ago

Amidst the predictable Chinese New Year menus, Hup Lok, a 38-seat restaurant that opened in September 2025 at 725 Havelock Road, Singapore, offers a welcome alternative. The reviewer highlights two standout dishes: the Claypot Hokkien Mee ($18.80), featuring generous portions of prawns, pork belly, squid, crispy omelette, and lardons, praised for its smoky flavor and well-coated noodles, and Grandpa’s Pomfret Soup ($13.80), a flavorful broth made with dried sole, chicken, fish bones, and huadiao wine, served with a whole pomfret. The Large Hokkaido Gyoren Scallop ($7.90 each) was deemed a disappointment due to its unappealing peppery sauce with curry leaves. Hup Lok is open Tuesdays to Sundays from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm and 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm, closed on Mondays.
