Van roddelen tot eindeloze meetings: aan deze collega’s ergeren Nederlanders zich het vaakst 23.02.2026

An investigation by Cvster among 1325 Dutch individuals reveals that constant complaining is the most significant workplace annoyance, with nearly 30% of women citing negativity and persistent grumbling as their primary frustration. While men are more tolerant of complaining, they are particularly bothered by inefficient and lengthy meetings, with over one in six men expressing this concern. Gossip is a top-three irritation for both genders, especially among younger employees aged 18-29. Office workers are most irked by unnecessary meetings and noise, whereas those in sectors like healthcare or construction are more bothered by gossip and untidy workspaces. Age also plays a role, with older workers, particularly those over seventy, experiencing increased frustration with excessive meetings. Despite these irritations, a strong bond exists between colleagues, with a significant majority considering coworkers friends, which is crucial for job satisfaction.
