Vancouver city councillor adopts 10-year-old dog known for chasing SkyTrain 03.06.2026

Vancouver City Councillor Rebecca Bligh has adopted Moishi, a 10-year-old Golden Retriever with a history of chasing the Canada Line SkyTrain. Moishi, a service dog, previously found himself on the tracks at Broadway-City Hall station when his owner boarded a train without him three years ago. The incident, which led to Moishi being rescued unharmed, resonated with Bligh, whose daughter works at the West King Edward Animal Clinic where Moishi was taken. Following the sudden passing of Moishi's owner on May 11, 2023, and with no next-of-kin identified, Bligh learned of Moishi's situation through her daughter. Having recently lost their own dog, Bligh and her family, who were already considering adoption from the Vancouver Animal Shelter, officially welcomed Moishi into their home on May 19.
