Vatican Delegation tours Chiclayo to prepare for Pope Leo XIV's visit 07.07.2026

An official delegation composed of representatives from the Peruvian Chancellery, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Apostolic Nunciature, and the Peruvian Episcopal Conference is currently touring the city of Chiclayo. The primary objective of this commission is to inspect the venues that will serve for the historic visit of Pope Leo XIV to Peru, scheduled for November of this year. Among the inspection activities, the tour of the Las Pampas de Reque area stands out, which has been proposed as the location to celebrate the pontiff's central mass. In addition to Chiclayo, the President of Congress, José María Balcázar, confirmed that the supreme pontiff's tour will include the cities of Piura, Cusco, Pucallpa, and Lima. These coordination efforts aim to ensure the necessary logistics for the Catholic leader's arrival in various regions of the country during his stay.
