Both nations agreed to cooperate on combating illicit drug trafficking, terrorism, and migration. This diplomatic engagement follows Venezuela's opening of its oil sector to private companies, including French firm Maurel & Prom, which was added to the U.S. list of authorized operators, signaling a normalization of relations severed in 2019.
