This massive metallic dome, resembling a villain's lair, houses a unique telescope designed for an unprecedented mission: to photograph the entire southern sky every three days for ten years. Scheduled to begin operations by June, the observatory, named after the astronomer who discovered dark matter, will create a sky map of unparalleled detail and depth, surpassing all previous astronomical surveys like Pan-Starrs and the Sloan Digital Sky Survey.
