On Saturday night, a trailer filled with fireworks ignited and exploded on Interstate 75 northbound near Ooltewah, Tennessee, prompting a significant emergency response and a temporary shutdown of both northbound and southbound lanes. Video captured by the Chattanooga Fire Department shows fireworks launching in various directions as the trailer was consumed by flames. While traffic was halted for safety and crews from the Chattanooga Fire Department and Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department worked to extinguish the blaze and manage hot spots, no injuries were reported. The southbound lanes of the interstate reopened sooner, but northbound lanes remained closed for an extended period to clear the debris. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
