The Riga municipality plans to undertake extensive renovation of Old Riga's public spaces to improve urban quality, accessibility, and economic activity. The project aims to create a modern and safe environment by leveling street surfaces and restoring historical paving, while simultaneously preserving the authenticity of the UNESCO heritage. As high-quality outdoor cafes and terraces without additional platforms are established in the streets, entrepreneurs will have broader development opportunities. Additionally, the modernization of the rainwater sewage network is planned to protect historical buildings from moisture. The project will also include improving the lighting system, creating new recreation areas, planting trees, and installing bicycle parking. This investment project, with a total value exceeding 8.6 million euros, will significantly boost tourism and investment growth, making Old Riga more accessible for daily walks and leisure.
