Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, known as El Mencho, a prominent Mexican drug lord and leader of the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG), was killed on Sunday at the age of 59 during a military operation supported by the United States. Originating from a humble rural background in Michoacán, El Mencho rose through the ranks of organized crime, becoming known for his violent nature, strategic mind, and cruelty. He was one of the most sought-after drug traffickers by both Mexican and U.S. authorities, with his cartel becoming one of the most feared in Mexico. His early involvement in the drug trade began in his youth, working for the Valencia family in cannabis trafficking.
