Vlaardingse pleegouders verliezen gezag over eigen kind 22.02.2026

Vlaardingse foster parents Van den B. and W. have lost custody and parental authority over their own child, a decision upheld by the court despite their objections. This follows their November conviction for abusing a 10-year-old foster girl, whom they beat and confined, and also abusing other foster children. The court found that witnessing domestic violence can have severe developmental consequences for children, and the foster parents failed to take sufficient responsibility for their actions. The two children involved have been living in a family home for over a year, while Van den B. and W. remain in prison. The Public Prosecution Service has appealed the criminal case, arguing for TBS placement and conviction for aggravated assault.
