On Friday afternoon in Geldrop, a 40-year-old female driver, under the influence of multiple drugs, struck a 74-year-old cyclist on the Emopad. Following the collision, the male passenger fled the scene in the vehicle, and he too was found to be under the influence of drugs. The incident was reported to a neighborhood officer around 4 PM. The driver, from Helmond, was identified as the cause of the accident. The vehicle, with the 42-year-old passenger from Eindhoven driving, was later spotted and cornered on Laan der Vier Heemskinderen in Geldrop around 5 PM. The passenger, who had been driving with an invalid license for ten years, was arrested and faces charges including evidence tampering and insult. The cyclist was transported to the hospital with injuries, and the condition of both individuals is unknown. The car has been impounded.
