The Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) released dramatic footage of a helicopter rescue operation that saved two tourists stranded inside Santa Marija Cave in Ġnejna. The operation was launched after Rescue Coordination Centre Malta received reports that the pair required assistance. An AFM rescue vessel and Civil Protection Department (CPD) crews were immediately dispatched, but rough sea conditions made a boat rescue too dangerous and the tourists were unable to swim safely.
