Weather: Heat: part of French-speaking Switzerland under orange alert 07.07.2026

According to forecasts published by MétéoSuisse this Tuesday morning, an orange alert for "significant danger" is currently in effect for part of French-speaking Switzerland due to heatwave temperatures in the lowlands. The most affected areas include the Lake Geneva arc, the surroundings of Lakes Neuchâtel and Biel, as well as the Jura region. Valais will also experience a rise in temperature, albeit more moderately, with maximums forecast at 34 degrees this Tuesday, dropping to 33 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday, before rising to 35 degrees starting Friday. The heat will persist through the weekend and the beginning of next week with averages of 34 degrees. Furthermore, nights will become increasingly warm and humid starting late in the week, with an average of 21 degrees.
