Wee dismisses claims of MCA-PN collaboration in Johor polls as ‘made-up stories’ 04.07.2026

MCA president Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong has vehemently denied allegations of collaboration between MCA and Perikatan Nasional (PN) in the Johor state election, labeling them as fabricated stories aimed at damaging the Barisan Nasional's (BN) reputation. Speaking after a campaign event in Paloh, Wee stated that there is no evidence to support such claims and that the accusations are illogical, questioning the reasoning behind them. He suggested that the allegations stem from PAS's Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man urging PAS members to vote for BN candidates in non-PN contested seats, a move reportedly accused by Johor DAP as BN-PN cooperation. Wee emphasized MCA's focus on the Johor government's achievements under caretaker Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, dismissing the claims as politically motivated. He also refuted any link between a BN victory and the potential release of Datuk Seri Najib Razak, stating the pardon process is independent of election outcomes. The Johor polls are set for July 11, with early voting on July 7.
