A recent Forsa poll conducted between February 9th and 16th for the "Ostsee-Zeitung" indicates the AfD is leading significantly in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, seven months before the state parliamentary elections on September 20th. The AfD stands at 37 percent, a two-point increase from a previous NDR poll, while the SPD, led by Minister-President Manuela Schwesig, has dropped to 23 percent. The CDU is at 13 percent, and the current governing partner, Die Linke, is at 11 percent. The BSW is polling at 5 percent, on the threshold of entering the state parliament, while the FDP and Greens are below the 5 percent mark, risking exclusion. The survey involved 1,003 eligible voters and has a margin of error of +/- 3 percent.
