The escape of a panther cub on the streets of Bormla remains under investigation by the Malta Police Force over four months after the incident. A police spokesperson confirmed to MaltaToday that inquiries are still active, but would not disclose whether the big cat is back in its original owner’s custody or if charges will be filed. The Animal Welfare Directorate is also involved, but a spokesperson for the Animal Rights Ministry declined to comment, citing the ongoing investigation and deferring all updates to the police.
