A family in Kalkara, Malta, experienced a terrifying incident when a parachute flare entered their home through an open roof door while they were having lunch on Sunday. The resident told Times of Malta that the staircase "lit up" as the flare entered, filling the washroom with smoke and bright light. Her husband burned his fingers while picking up the lit flare and throwing it back onto the roof. The flare damaged recently installed roof tiles, washroom tiles, and a curtain. The family filed a police report, and officers from the Civil Protection Department responded to the scene.
