Winter storms are exacerbating dire living conditions in Gaza, where at least four people have died due to collapsing walls falling on makeshift tents sheltering displaced Palestinians. These incidents occurred more than two years into the ongoing conflict and amid persistent aid shortfalls, with authorities at al-Shifa Hospital reporting the deaths of three family members, including 72-year-old Mohammed Hamouda, when an eight-meter wall collapsed. A second woman also died in a similar incident in Gaza City. The Gaza Health Ministry has recorded seven deaths from cold since winter began, including infants and young children. UNICEF spokesperson James Elder noted that at least 100 children under 18 have been killed since the truce due to military operations, with the actual toll likely higher.
