A 73-year-old woman sustained life-threatening injuries in a residential fire that broke out in a multi-family home in Regensburg, Bavaria, on Monday afternoon, February 23rd. Firefighters discovered the unconscious woman inside her smoke-filled apartment and immediately transferred her to the care of emergency medical services, who then transported her to a hospital for treatment. The fire rendered the senior's apartment uninhabitable, and authorities estimate the property damage to be in the low six figures. Fortunately, no other residents of the building were harmed. The criminal police have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the blaze.
