Wooncoöperaties uit de stad bundelen krachten in één samenwerkingsverband 22.02.2026

Fifteen housing cooperatives in Amsterdam have officially united to form the Platform Wooncoöperaties Amsterdam, established today, February 22, 2026. This collaborative platform will facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience among its members, who collectively design, finance, and build their own homes, offering an alternative to traditional housing corporations. Louisa Bergsma, the platform's chair, expressed optimism that this unified approach will strengthen advocacy for existing and new housing cooperatives in the city. Members like Michiel Voskamp of wooncoöperatie de Tortelduif, currently developing 40 apartments at Merdekagracht on IJburg, and Ellen Maassen of wooncoöperatie De Warren, residing on IJburg for three years, highlighted the benefits of shared expertise and improved dialogue with the municipality regarding the development and management of collective housing projects.
