Workers and students march for dignified wages and against bonuses 09.04.2026

This Thursday, April 9, public administration workers and students from the Central University of Venezuela (UCV) marched in Caracas towards the Miraflores Palace demanding dignified wages and rejecting the "bonus" policy for income. Despite the easing of sanctions and trade agreements, the labor base denounces that the macroeconomic improvement is not reflected in their homes, criticizing that the flow of foreign currency has not impacted their purchasing power. The mobilization, which affected traffic in the city center, comes after government promises of a salary increase for May 1, which unions consider insufficient and demand that bonuses be converted into base salary with benefit incidence, adding to a unity pact of more than 200 union organizations to maintain pressure.
