Yankees Star Aaron Judge Takes First Step Toward Return, Cleared For Light Workouts 05.08.2026

Aaron Judge, the New York Yankees captain and three-time AL MVP, has taken a significant step toward returning to the field after being sidelined since May 31 with a stress fracture in his right rib. Judge was cleared to begin light workout activity on Wednesday, following a scan that showed his rib is healing. He participated in stretching, jogging, and shuffle slides with a resistance band at Yankee Stadium, marking his first on-field activity since the injury. "Better news. Healing up. So, you get a chance to progress a little bit, do some running, do some more upper-body stuff," Judge said, though he acknowledged the fracture is not yet fully healed.
