Yanson family saga: New drama unfolds on late patriarch’s 97th birthday 03.07.2026

On what should have been a day of remembrance for the late Ricardo Yanson Sr., the deep rift within his billionaire family was laid bare. During a press conference held just before his 97th birthday celebration at the Yanson Beach Club in Talisay City, the "Yanson 3" faction—matriarch Doña Olivia and her children Ginette and Leo Rey—announced a new warrant of arrest against the "Yanson 4": Roy, Emily, Ma. Lourdes Celina, and Ricardo Yanson Jr. The warrant, issued by Bacolod RTC Branch 54, is for seven counts of qualified theft with no bail fixed, stemming from nine bank withdrawals totaling P803 million from a Philippine National Bank account in 2019. The money was allegedly deposited into Ricardo Jr.'s account without board consent. The "Yanson 3" also revealed that the Pasig City Prosecutor's Office recommended filing three additional counts of qualified theft for withdrawals exceeding P300 million. The Yanson 4, who are currently out of the country, also face charges of carnapping, falsification, and perjury.
