Yemen’s Houthis threaten Saudi targets over Iran flight to Sanaa 04.07.2026

Yemen's Houthis reported confronting Saudi warplanes on July 3, alleging they attempted to prevent an Iranian civilian plane carrying a Houthi delegation and over 200 patients from landing at Sanaa International Airport. The Iran-aligned group, whose military spokesperson Yahya Sarea issued the warning, threatened to attack Saudi airports and interests if such perceived violations of Yemeni airspace continue, vowing that flights to Tehran would persist regardless of consequences. The Saudi-led coalition, which intervened in Yemen in 2015, condemned the Houthis' threats on July 4, accusing them of violating Yemeni sovereignty and harming the population. The coalition vowed a firm response to any targeting of the Kingdom.
