Youm-e-Istehsal: Civil, military leadership reaffirm support for Kashmiris in IIOJK, call for UN-backed resolution 05.08.2026

Pakistan observed Youm-e-Istehsal on Wednesday, marking seven years since India’s August 5, 2019, decision to revoke the special autonomy of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) through the abrogation of Article 370. President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and the military leadership, including Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, issued statements reaffirming solidarity with the Kashmiri people. They emphasized that India’s actions did not alter the disputed status of IIOJK and called for a settlement in line with United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.
