breaking newsBN won’t tolerate fair-weather allies, says Zahid 18.04.2026

Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has issued a stern warning against opportunistic political partnerships, emphasizing that loyalty and consistent support are paramount for allies. Speaking at the Malaysian Indian Muslim Congress’s (Kimma) annual general assembly in Kuala Lumpur, Zahid stated that BN will not tolerate parties that seek assistance during difficult times but distance themselves once comfortable, branding such behavior as opportunism rather than genuine friendship. He stressed that true loyalty is unwavering, demonstrated consistently both publicly and privately, and that frequent switching of allegiances indicates a lack of principle. Zahid also addressed the situation with MIC, affirming their continued status as a core BN component and refuting claims of their intention to leave, despite past statements indicating a need to reassess their position.
