Media have revealed the conviction of Zoran Stevanović, chairman of the parliamentary party Resni.ca and Speaker of the National Assembly, who was convicted in 2004 for threatening the safety of a person. The court found that Stevanović, who was a police officer at the time, threatened the victim with destruction and shooting. In response to the reporting on social media, Stevanović stated that he directed some harsh words toward someone who deserved them, and mentioned a journalist from 24ur. In addition to the existing 2004 conviction, media reports also cited his final conviction for attempted fraud in 2008. His office stated that his previous explanations had already been provided in the past and that he would not comment further, as no one is hiding facts from his past.
